The wines of Domaine du Clos de l’Épinay
A 300-year-old estate, a new energy
Clos de l’Épinay has more than 300 years of history, but a brand-new chapter began when Antoine Labrosse and Henri Bruneau took it over. Their first vintage came out in 2023, and what a start!
Set on the ridge line of Vouvray, in the Loire Valley, the estate has 17 hectares of Chenin and about one hectare of red grapes: Pinot Noir, Gamay, Grolleau and a few others. Oceanic climate, clay-limestone and flint soils, varied exposures and slopes: everything comes together for wines of great diversity.
Agroecology at the heart of the project
Antoine and Henri focus all their work, from vine to wine, on the utmost respect for nature. They are bringing their surroundings back to life with micro-landscapes: hedges, trees and refuges for wildlife.
The grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness. In the cellar, winemaking simply accompanies the transformation of grapes into wine: minimal work but rigorous monitoring and great precision.
The cuvées of Clos de l’Épinay
Here Chenin is expressed plot by plot, to reveal every nuance of the Vouvray terroirs.
Sur le Bouchet white shows a fruity, generous Chenin that keeps all the minerality of its terroir. Also available in magnum.
La Houssaie, Chaflorie, Clos Palet, Quart du Bouchet and Rondière complete the Vouvray range, each with its own personality.
On the red side, Croix Martin showcases the estate’s small hectare of red grapes.
Loire natural wines like you have never tasted before: an authentic, unique expression of Vouvray Chenin.
