The magnum size
The magnum of natural wine is your favorite wine but twice. A magnum contains 1.5L of wine, the equivalent of two 75cl bottles. This allows you to serve 12 glasses of wine to your guests.
In general, magnums are consumed on special occasions, times of celebration. They bring added value to the service, they bring a touch of prestige to the moment.
The magnum, generally opened during weddings, birthdays, benefits a maximum of people. It's time to celebrate, it's a friendly time.
The advantages of a magnum
A magnum allows a better maturation of the wine , because the ratio between the volume of liquid and the surface of contact with the air is more favorable to a slow and harmonious evolution of the wine. Unlike the jeroboam for example, because the diameter of the cork is not the same as that of a 75cl bottle (also identical to the magnum of wine).
A better maturation therefore leads to a beautiful evolution of the wine, to a different complexity and finesse. Wine settles over time, even in a magnum.
If this is ideal for good maturation, then the magnum of natural wine is also ideal for wines to laying down. You can keep a bottle of Morgon from Domaine Lapierre for years, just as you can keep its magnum size, for example. It is said of a wine for laying down that it needs time to develop and reach its full potential. A magnum of natural wine can therefore age very well in this size, in a very balanced way, favoring the preservation of aromas and its freshness. Just like in a 75cl bottle.
