The wines of Mas de la Font Ronde
The history of Mas de la Font Ronde
Mas de la Font Ronde is rooted in a family history spanning ten generations in the commune of Villevieille. The Moulin brothers, lifelong farmers, converted their farm, first agricultural then viticultural, while maintaining their connection to the land. Of the estate’s 80 hectares, 25 are planted with vines, but also wheat, potatoes, and chickpeas — all cultivated without herbicides, using compost and animal traction. The choice of organic farming, combined with a progressive shift toward biodynamics, is not pursued as an end in itself but as a tool to better meet the needs of the vine and the soil. The result: a living ecosystem that nurtures sincere, uncompromising wines.
The cuvées of Mas de la Font Ronde
The estate’s wines rely on southern Languedoc grape varieties such as Aramon, Carignan, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Ugni Blanc, and Cinsault — often under the emblematic Pompon label. They are vinified without additives, without filtration, without sulfur (or very little after production), and with artisanal methods. Pompon Rouge blends Aramon, Carignan, Cinsault, and Alicante Bouschet, while Pompon Blanc combines Ugni Blanc and Grenache Blanc in a light skin-contact style. Pompon Rosé, from a gentle pressing of Syrah and Carignan, offers perfect summer drinkability. Precise, round, digestible wines, free of pretension, to enjoy at the table or in simplicity.
