The wines of Domaine Kennel
The lovely family story of the Kennels
Domaine Kennel lies in Provence, at the foot of the village of Pierrefeu-du-Var. This family estate has 38 hectares of vines and many grape varieties. In 1932 great-grandfather Kennel, a cooper from the village of Arth in Switzerland, bought from the Marquise de Pierrefeu a former outbuilding of the monks of Saint-Victor Abbey in Marseille. Julien's grandfather took it over in the 1950s, then his father Charles. Julien and his wife Mireille are the fourth generation of winemakers and continue to develop the farm while protecting their terroir and its surroundings as much as possible from chemical aggression. In 2005 the couple chose to convert to biodynamic methods.
