The story of Yvon Métras
Based in Fleurie in Beaujolais, Yvon Métras, an exceptional winemaker, took over the family estate in 1988, where he grows Gamay to perfection on around 5 hectares. Yvon joined the spirit of the "Gang of Four", following the example of Marcel Lapierre and Jules Chauvet, to make 100% natural cuvées, meaning no additives or, at most, a minimal touch of SO2. Great Beaujolais wines not to be missed!
The cuvées of Yvon Métras
Yvon farms his vines organically, without chemicals, for everyone's enjoyment. The grapes are hand-picked and vinified as whole bunches through semi-carbonic maceration with natural yeasts. He makes cuvées in the Fleurie appellation, Moulin-à-Vent and Beaujolais-Villages. With vines dating back as far as 1898, Yvon produces great wines such as "La Madone", "Madame Placard", "Grille Midi" and his rare flagship cuvée, "L'Ultime"!
