The wines of Les Chemins de Bassac
The story of Les Chemins de Bassac
In Puimisson, in the hinterland of Béziers, Bruno Trigueiro and Thama Sakuma tend their vines in a privileged spot between the Mediterranean Sea and the first hills. The nearby sea and mountains temper the Languedoc sun, and that is the estate's whole challenge: making ripe wines that stay drinkable. Les Chemins de Bassac have farmed organically for more than twenty years and switched to biodynamics a few years ago, with constant attention to soil life. The vines lie in the Côtes de Thongue appellation, a still little-known corner of the Languedoc where Mediterranean grapes and Rhône varieties grow side by side. In the cellar, Bruno makes each cuvée to keep fruit and freshness without erasing the character of the terroirs. The result: sunny, honest wines offering excellent value for money.
The cuvées of Les Chemins de Bassac
The estate's range covers every occasion, from aperitif to big family dinners. In white, Sans Script shows the fresh side of viognier: lively, sapid and crunchy, as good with an aperitif as with fish in sauce or sushi. The Roussanne plays the card of aromatic indulgence, fruity and warm, ideal with a slow-cooked dish. In red, L'Univers Parallèle blends grenache and syrah into a drinkable, crowd-pleasing wine, perfect for grills and tapas. Pleine Lune pairs two fine grape varieties in a ripe, fruity and spicy style typical of the Languedoc. Pleine Terre, made from barrel-aged syrah, is round, generous and fleshy: a wine for rib of beef. Finally, Rêves Indigènes, more powerful and concentrated, is built for the table and can be cellared for a few years. Pleine Terre and Rêves Indigènes also come in magnum.
