The wines of Finca Parera
The story of Finca Parera
It is in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons, in the Penedès west of Barcelona, that the Parera family grows vines and makes natural wines. Now run by Jordi Parera, Finca Parera draws on more than forty years of experience, and as many years of biodynamic farming. Here, polyculture is a conviction: among the vines also grow fruit trees, cereals and olive trees, all sources of life that feed the estate's balance. Finca Parera highlights the potential of its soils and aims to intervene as little as possible in winemaking. In this warm climate, the challenge is keeping freshness, and it is met thanks to the terroir and local grapes such as xarel·lo, which brings liveliness and tension. Balanced, fresh and light wines: everything we love.
The cuvées of Finca Parera
Fosc is the estate's safe bet: a Penedès red where the freshness of the terroir balances the warm climate and southern grapes. Fruity, spicy, with light tannins, it works in every situation and is a great alternative to Rhône Valley wines. Fins als Kullons, a blend of xarel·lo and grenache, is bottled in litres, and not by chance: light, fruity and easy to drink, it is shared among friends at aperitif time and happily replaces rosé by the pool. Clar puts xarel·lo at the centre of a blend of richer, fruitier grapes: a balanced, versatile white to drink well chilled with a board of charcuterie and cheese.
