The wines of Domaine Les Grandes Vignes
The story of Domaine Les Grandes Vignes
For several generations, the Vaillant family has shaped Domaine Les Grandes Vignes, in the heart of Anjou, in the Loire Valley. A family estate, handed down and enriched over the years, that has chosen to commit fully to biodynamics and natural wine production. Anjou is a land of great diversity, where schist and limestone soils host chenin, king of Loire whites, as well as cabernet franc and grolleau for reds. The Vaillant family grows all these grapes with the same concern: to sincerely reveal the richness of its terroirs. In the cellar, the wines are made naturally, some without sulphur and without filtration, to keep pure, vibrant fruit. The range goes from easy-drinking wines to food cuvées, always with plenty of freshness. A fine Anjou house, sincere and generous.
The cuvées of Domaine Les Grandes Vignes
La Varenne du Poirier is a chenin just as we like them: lively, taut and mineral, a white with drive, perfect with fish, cheese or a dish in white sauce. L'Aubinaie is a 100% cabernet franc for the table: three weeks of maceration, then nine months in barrel to bring roundness and finesse, unfiltered and sulphur-free to keep a pure juice and vibrant fruit. The P'tit Vaillant range plays the simple-pleasure card. P'tit Vaillant Blanc is a blanc de noirs, made by direct pressing of grolleau and cabernet franc: fresh, tangy and fruity, the ideal glass of white for aperitif time. P'tit Vaillant Rouge blends the same grapes into a fruity, spicy, all-round red, to share with charcuterie and friends.
