The wines of Élémentaire Vins
The story of Élémentaire Vins
Behind Élémentaire Vins is Landry Bouvot, a passionate young winemaker recently settled near Clermont-Ferrand, in Auvergne. Rather than starting by buying vines, Landry chose the négoce route: he selects organically and biodynamically grown grapes from trusted growers, then makes the wine himself. An approach that lets him work with varied grapes and terroirs, from Auvergne but also other regions such as the Gard. His guiding line is clear: natural wines, made without artifice, and no sulphur added at bottling. The estate's name says it all about his philosophy: back to basics, to the grape, the fruit and the simple pleasure of a living wine. Sincere, digestible wines for all natural wine lovers, and a still-young project just waiting to grow.
The cuvées of Élémentaire Vins
La Chasse aux Chagrins lives up to its name (“chasing the blues”): it is the kind of wine that instantly puts you in a good mood. Landry makes it from Gard grenache, for a fruity, spicy red. A sunny southern wine that nonetheless stays light and digestible, with no heaviness and no added sulphur. It is a wine built for summer and barbecues, but it will please all year round, with grilled meats, a charcuterie board or a southern dish. Serve slightly chilled to fully enjoy its fruit. A fine illustration of Élémentaire Vins' style: simple, gourmand and easy-going, exactly what you expect from a good wine among friends.
