The wines of Domaine Claude Quénard & Fils
A Chignin family
Domaine Claude Quénard & Fils is a family estate in Chignin, in Savoie, at the foot of the Bauges massif. Today André, Guy, Vincent and Mathieu Quénard run the estate, on steep slopes where the vines enjoy a fine exposure.
Not to be confused with the other Quénards of the village: this is a family story of its own, with its own personality.
Organic pioneers in Savoie
You could call them pioneers: the vines have been farmed organically since 2000, and the estate has been certified biodynamic since 2016. In short, the Quénard family has known how to pamper its terroirs for a very long time, for frank, fresh Savoie wines offering excellent value.
The cuvées of Domaine Claude Quénard & Fils
The Chignin is a lively, effective Jacquère, mineral and fresh: perfect as an aperitif to get to know this typical Savoie grape.
The Chignin-Bergeron shows Roussanne in a mountain version, on the steep terroirs of Chignin: more freshness without losing any richness.
The Mondeuse Les Granges Claires is the ideal crowd-pleaser to discover this fine grape: fruity, with light tannins and no heaviness.
The Mondeuse Arbin takes you to THE Savoie terroir of Mondeuse: a sunny exposure that lets it ripen fully.
Finally, Sansoufrir is a Savoie blend with no added sulphur, light and fruity with a touch of spice: terribly effective!
